DeviceLink is designed to be local-first, transparent, and user-controlled.
Key commitments
- User-driven access: DeviceLink accesses files only in response to explicit user requests.
- Scoped access: DeviceLink operates only within folders you explicitly share.
- No hidden behavior: No background scanning, indexing, or silent uploads.
- Data minimization: We avoid logging sensitive data such as file contents, private keys, or OAuth tokens.
Product distribution
DeviceLink is distributed via the public NPM registry.
The CLI is installed and executed locally by the user. DeviceLink does not
install background services or perform hidden system modifications.
Version, limits, roadmap
- Stable: v1.0.0
- Limits: one workspace, one device (multiple shared folders/roots supported)
- Next: Windows agent improvements → Mac + Linux agents → Android (exploratory)
