Terms of Service

1) Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DeviceLink, including the DeviceLink website, the DeviceLink CLI distributed via NPM (@devicelink/dlink), and related services (collectively, "DeviceLink"). By using DeviceLink, you agree to these Terms.

2) Intended use

DeviceLink is designed to enable user-controlled access to files on a user's own device, scoped to folders explicitly shared by the user. DeviceLink operates only in response to user requests.

3) Acceptable use

• You will use DeviceLink only in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• You will not use DeviceLink to access data you do not have permission to access.
• You will not attempt to bypass security controls or access outside shared folders.
• You will not use DeviceLink to distribute malware, perform exploitation, or enable unauthorized surveillance.

4) User responsibility

You are responsible for: (a) selecting which folders to share, (b) ensuring you have rights to the content accessed, and (c) securing your own device and environment.

5) Service availability

DeviceLink is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

6) Disclaimers

DEVICE LINK IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7) Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVICE LINK AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE.

8) Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and "Policy version."
